Jojo had a dream. It was a scary dream that was exciting and terrifying. She was chased by a monster, a huge rooster, and a giant fish. When she woke up, her body was sore from running in her dream all night. She was excited and astounded as she reflected upon her dream.
As Jojo recollects about her dream, she speaks about it in past tense. Since the dream had already happened she re-tells her dream in the past tense.
A nightmare is a very common occurrence in the active imagination of a child's sleep. Some children get so terrified after waking up and being unable to leave their imagination. This short story will help kids realize that those imageries are not real and that once awake, the images will dissolve from their mind. The following short story was written to help ease a child's anxiety after having a nightmare and helps them realize that "It was all just a dream.”
