Moon Lady is a well known folklore in Taiwan and China. It is told to children during the Moon Festival, which is when there is a full moon on August 15th in the Lunar calendar. The story explains why the Taiwanese culture celebrates by eating moon cake and having barbeques. The story also allows children to carry their imagination to the dark side of the moon.

The Moon Lady, Chan Ge, was a thoughtful and kind lady. She stole and took the immortalizing medicine to prevent the cruel king from living forever and torturing his people.

I have integrated this story to not only tell a recognized folklore but to also teach an English lesson. I believe it is a beautiful mistake and hope it makes learning fun for children. It's a great short story to tell and share with children all around the world of different cultures. I look forward to sharing more folklore stories to the children all over the world.
